Victor M. Ortega is a native of Puerto Rico and today lives in the City of Minneola Florida. Victor is one of five Councilmember's for the City of Minneola and is an active member in numerous local boards and committees. As an entrepreneur and civic minded individual, Victor was the brain child for the Business Owner Success Summit (BOSS) and is committed to branding Minneola as a “place for business.”  Prior to his move to the Metro Orlando area, Victor completed nearly 12 years in real estate management.  In the mid 90’s he began his career in Marketing and Sales for a local travel and hospitality company.  As the founder of Organization of Puerto Rican Artists, Inc., OrtgaFoto, and Attribute Marketing Corp., Victor is also recognized for his photography work in both New York City and Philadelphia.

James Spencer is a Certified Business Analyst (CBA), and the Area Manager for the Lake County office of the Small Business Development Center at the University of Central Florida located at 600 Market Street in Leesburg, Florida and is co-founder of Business Owner Success Summit (BOSS). Spencer also serves as the Site Manager for the UCF Business Incubation Program, in partnership with the City of Leesburg and the Lake County Economic Growth & Redevelopment office. In this dual role, Spencer is leveraging his 17+ years as a hi-technology entrepreneurial executive to mentor and counsel startups and small to medium size businesses with the goal of assisting the creation of sustainable, Green businesses and high paying jobs in the Lake and Sumter County areas. Spencer graduated from Brown University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and currently serves on the UCF SBDC’s Advisory Board Council, the Business Owner’s Success Summit-Lake County, and the Lake County Workforce Development Committee. James is also a member of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA).

Timothy W. Green, ASLA, AICP, LEED AP, is the President of Green Consulting Group, Inc. (GCG) and BOSS co-founder. Founded in Mount Dora in 1998, GCG provides Landscape Architecture, Land Planning, and Development Assistance for private and public clients on a wide range of projects. Mr. Green earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Florida and has been a Registered Landscape Architect since 1982. He serves as the President of the Chamber Alliance of Lake County, Inc., is a Board Member of the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce and serves as Chairman of the Depot Restoration Committee. Mr. Green is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the Florida Planning and Zoning Association and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with the US Green Building Council.

Theresa Davis earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Merchandising at Florida State University. During her time in the apparel industry she managed the planning buying and designing of collections that sold in stores nationwide. Theresa is currently assisting James Spencer for the SBDC and UCF Business Incubation Program in its community involvement, program planning, and daily office functions.

Mr. Thomas is Director of Economic Development and BOSS co-founder.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Bethune Cookman College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.  Mr. Thomas is responsible for business attraction and expansion for the City of Leesburg.  He handles all aspects of real estate development i.e. for sale properties and leases.  Mr. Thomas has been successful in obtaining 3 million dollars of grant funding for the City of Leesburg.  Mr. Thomas was also responsible for creating the Leesburg/Lake County/UCF Business Incubator.

Cary Pierce has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Florida State University and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Rollins College.  Cary’s professional experience includes business development for IT Companies and Software companies, creating a Start-Up Company, being a Small Business Owner, a Vice President of Marketing and a Real Estate Broker.  Cary’s current responsibilities entail serving as a liaison between companies, business organizations, and government with the goal of creating a business friendly environment and quality jobs for the citizens of Lake County.  Part of his current responsibilities include marketing and managing Lake County’s Business Incentive Programs.
